Online safety

You will see profiles made up by other people with the sole intent of scamming. Scammers try and create accounts on every type of dating site. Here is some advice to help protect yourself.

NEVER send money
No matter how genuine someone appears never send money. If our moderation team see a message that requests money they will erase the profile instantly. Real people don't ask for money, scammers do!

Sextortion
Never share intimate pictures with someone else. They may try and blackmail you.

Country locations
If someone says they are from one country but currently in another be aware. For example, scammers from Nigeria will say they're American but working for a hospital, university or some other noble cause in West Africa. Just report and block them without hesitation. Real people want a date in the same city, not half way around the planet.

Real-world safety

Here are some tips when you move from online to the read-world.

  • Meet in a public place
  • Tell a friend
  • Take your phone
  • Use own transport
